Netherland Dwarf, Holland and Mini-lops

We raise show and pet rabbits. Our daughter, Zebbi, started with a pair as a Christmas present, and, well, as they say, they just keep multiplying!

Things Bunnies Should Have To Write On The Blackboard 100 Times

  • As much as I love my brother, I do not need to show it to the world. Especially while on display at an Easter egg hunt so that Mommy has to come up with some sort of explanation for the little humans.
  • Being chased with a net is not a game. I will not dance like crazy, shake my head and wiggle my ears in a fit of silliness while Mom is trying to catch me.
  • I do not need to pounce on everything I see.
  • I will not attempt to escape my cage by climbing through the feeder.
  • I will not disappear by fading into the shadows and then laugh at the humans when they can't find me.
  • I will not growl at my parents when they try to give me my medicine.
  • I will not look really cute and snuggle into people's laps and then pee.
  • I will not yodel after successfully breeding. It is bragging, and the does don't like it.
  • I will stop conspiring to get into places with my boyfriend.
  • I will not go temporarily insane and rip fur out of my neck for two hours.
  • My girlfriend is for mounting, not Mommy's foot.
  • I will not zoom over to low, flat containers of wine, jam our heads in, and start drinking alcoholic beverages without Mom's permission.

Holland Lops

The Holland Lop is the smallest and the most popular of the lop-eared rabbits. Both the Holland Lop and the Mini-Lop are miniature versions of the Lop-eared Rabbit. It is named after its home country, Holland where this breeds development started in 1949. The final breed as we know it today was finalized in the 1960's. It was brought into the United States in 1976, and it's popularity as a favorite pet continues to grow. These are very mellow smaller rabbits that are easy for beginners to handle and care for. This is a very sweet and affectionate animal. They love to play and hop around. Holland Lops don't require a lot of space and they eat less than bigger bunnies!

Netherland Dwarfs

Netherland dwarf rabbits are often called gems of the rabbit world – small, round creatures with big personalities. They are the second most popular breed among the 45 pure breed rabbits recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA). They are also the smallest breed of all pure breed rabbits. A mature Netherland dwarf has an ideal weight of 2 pounds, and a maximum allowed weight of 2 1/2 pounds.

Why Bunnies?

People are attracted to bunnies because of their quiet sweet dispositions, soft cuddly fur, and small size! Rabbits are a very popular pet for children and adults alike. They are relatively inexpensive to keep, easy to house and feed, and can live for over 10 years if well taken care of. Rabbits also tend to be hardy little animals and don't easily contract diseases. It is a common misconception that rabbits are rodents - which they are not! Rabbits actually belong to their own order called Lagomorpha.

Mini-Lops

Besides being so very cute, the Mini Lop Rabbit is a favorite bunny because they are so sweet and cuddly. These rabbits will stay smaller than a regular rabbit and they make a great pet for children. The Mini Lop Rabbit is lively and smart. Not only are they very "huggable" and playful, they are known to be successfully litter-box trained. They make great companions that like to interact and appreciate affection, and are often described as being like a pet dog.

Need a Bunny?

We have about 4 litters a year. Not from the same mom! Let us know if you would be interested!
